Blog Project #1: The Computer

So the computer…it is definitely interesting in that I use this particular machine almost if not everyday.  Not just that, but at times things go wrong with it, and that is why I find it important to know background on something I will be working with today and in my future.  As discussed in class, a computer is “an electronic machine that is capable of performing calculations of various types of information…by using a stored set of instructions” (Mahood, lecture 9).  This stored set of instructions directs data to the right place in order to translate for people to comprehend.  This is the basic understanding of a computer.  In the past ten years, computers have become an essential to business and everyday life.  It has proven its worthiness by providing a wealth of information at the click of a button, and opened portals into what the future could look like.  This simple invention has revolutionized modern thinking.  And according to “Moore’s Law,”  it will only multiply.  Moore’s Law predicts the number of transistors (that is, the amplitude and control of electricity which allows for more info more quickly) on an integrated circuit will double every twenty-four months!  I can only conclude that it is in my best interest to collect as much information on this invention as early as I possibly can, in order to become more competitive in the work force.
